The Smith

Dinner Plans? The Smith Never Misses

The Smith in Midtown has become my go-to spot with my college friends—it's got that perfect combo of great vibes, amazing service, and consistently delicious food. There's always a lively crowd, and it never disappoints. I had the basil pesto radiatori this time (I'm a total pasta lover), and it was everything I could want—fresh, flavorful, and loaded with parmesan. Definitely a must for anyone looking for a solid dinner out in the city.

Sean’s Bar and Kitchen

Stuffed and Smiling at Sean’s Bar & Kitchen

If you're looking for an Irish spot and indulgent eats, Sean's Bar and Kitchen is a must-visit. I went in hungry and left absolutely stuffed after ordering the “Everything but the Kitchen Sink” platter — and let me tell you, it lived up to its name! Wings, tenders, mozzarella sticks, waffle fries, onion rings, three kinds of dip... and yes, it actually came in a mini kitchen sink! Total crowd-pleaser and perfect for sharing (or not — no judgment here).

The only downside was the wait — the line was pretty long, and it took a while to get seated. But honestly, once the food hit the table, it was worth it.

Great food, great fun, and a touch of Irish charm. Just bring your appetite!

Daily Provisions

Palm Trees & Oat Lattes

I finally checked out Daily Provisions for the first time, and I’m so glad I did.

It’s tucked inside Brookfield Place, which has more of a modern cafeteria vibe — but in the best way. Think sleek, open space, people buzzing around on lunch breaks, and (my favorite part) cozy seating right next to tall indoor palm trees. Yes, palm trees. It’s a little unexpected and kind of magical.

I ordered a hot oat latte, and it was so good. Creamy, comforting, and perfectly balanced. One of those lattes that makes you pause mid-sip and just smile. The staff was also super sweet — chill, friendly, and made the whole experience feel easy and welcoming.

I didn’t grab anything to eat this time, but the food looked amazing. I spotted these gooey chocolate chip cookies behind the counter that I’m already dreaming about — definitely on the list for next visit.

Daily Provisions is now officially on my coffee rotation. Can’t wait to go back.

A Sweet Stop at Funny Face Bakery

I recently stopped by Funny Face Bakery in the Seaport, and it was such a fun little find! They’re known for their uniquely designed sugar cookies—super detailed, creative, and honestly, just fun to look at. But of course, I had to try a few of their regular cookies too.

The S'mores cookie was my favorite—soft, gooey, and packed with chocolatey, marshmallow goodness. I also tried the Crumbfetti and Crispy Mallow Crunch. While those weren’t quite my favorite, I have a feeling their focus is more on their signature sugar cookies

If you're in the area and love creative desserts, it’s worth popping in just to see the cookie art alone—and grab a S'mores cookie while you’re at it!
